Hi everyone! My name is Milisa, and I’m a 23-year-old veterinary student from Algeria. I speak Arabic, French, and English, and I’ve always been passionate about animal welfare, cultural exchange, and community engagement.
I’ve just arrived in Zabok, Croatia, where I’m about to begin my volunteering experience with Mreža udruga Zagor. This amazing network of youth organizations focuses on volunteerism, civic engagement, and social inclusion. When I learned about their work, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, contribute to the community, and learn from others.
As I start this journey, I’m looking forward to participating in workshops, community projects, and awareness campaigns that encourage active citizenship and social responsibility. Even though my studies are in veterinary medicine, I believe that building human connections and giving back to society is just as important.
I’m excited to see what the next months will bring—new experiences, new friendships, and personal growth. Volunteering abroad is a big adventure, and I can’t wait to fully dive into it!
If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, I encourage you to go for it—it’s an incredible way to learn, grow, and make a positive impact. I’ll be sharing more about my experience as I go, so stay tuned!
